/html-explain

An explainer page where prose alone would not do.

What it does

A read-only page for settled material, where diagrams, annotated figures, charts, and small interactive widgets do work prose cannot. Authoring identifies which parts are intrinsically hardest, budgets the page around those, and enriches only where comprehension actually breaks.

When to reach for it

"Write up what we landed on" — when the explanation deserves to be a shareable page rather than a chat message.

It's working if

  • Most of the page is plain prose. The diagrams appear only where prose was failing.
  • The most elaborate thing on the page is attached to the hardest idea, not the first one.
  • You can answer one specific question from it without reading from the top.
